Where Can I Serve?

Jesus told us, his disciples, to make disciples of all nations (Matthew 18:18-20). One of the most important values of this church is our mission to the world: “Making JESUS known is FIRST at First.” It begins in our own community, and spreads overseas to every nation. A variety of ministry opportunities entail:

Worship, including music, prayer, & adornments;

Partnering with God in Prayer

Prayer cannot be overestimated and should precede all else. Prayer moves the hand of God. Our church is a body of believers dependent upon prayer, and committed to God’s sovereignty. Each Sunday, during worship, the intercessory team prays for the ministry of the Word. Every Wednesday, the team is together for a special time of prayer and study. Regular healing stations are offered following worship and at special services. Personal prayer appointments are offered as requested, as a part of pastoral care. A prayer list is published in the weekly bulletin and by email. All are encouraged to lift prayers for the pastor, church members, ministry needs, and special requests. Please join in prayer!

Christian Education & Outreach for the Proclamation of the Gospel & the Mission of Christ. To grow as disciples of Christ, the nurture of all is encouraged through Christian education. We need teachers & helpers to  minister to children, youth, & adults in Sunday school and in other contexts.

Outreach: Evangelism & Mission

FPC of Pataskala is thrilled to be part of the spread of God’s kingdom around the world. We proclaim the gospel in the world through Good News Club in the local elementary schools, Vacation Bible School, participation in Pataskala day of prayer, and are open to other opportunities that God presents. We live stream and upload recordings of our weekly sermons to our website and YouTube. We also communicate church events & other information on our website, Facebook, and through other means. We are active in supporting, with resources and prayer, various Christian missions and missionaries. These regularly include: Boaz (orphanages in Africa, India, Russia, & Ukraine), Kids Eat Free summer lunch ministry for school age children,  Heartbeats of Licking County (for sanctity of life), Licking County Fostering Further for young adults, Gracehaven against human trafficking of youth, Operation Christmas Child Shoebox Outreach, and Storehouse for Jesus Food Bank. There are a bounty of ways to serve!

Benevolence Care, including hospitality. Those who are unable to be present, temporarily or permanently, due to illness, impairment or for other reasons, need encouragement and mercy. Are you inclined to help in nurture or care?

Finance & Stewardship, including the giving of time and resources.

Facilities and work crew maintenance of church property.

Let someone know how you want to serve Jesus at FPCP and listen for opportunities to serve that arise. Let’s joyfully work together for the good of Christ’s kingdom!
